STP General Assembly

Published by Sis. Linda Igna in News Update · 31/12/2014 10:36:52

On November 22, 2014, the parish held a general assembly at the Sta. Teresita Parish Church. This was convoked for the purpose of evaluating parish life and program in view of strategic planning for the coming years.  There were eighty six (86) parishioners who attended the said gathering.  Among them were officers and members of the Parish Pastoral Council, heads and representatives of various mandated religious organizations and the Basic Ecclesial Communities.

Rev. Benjie Notarte, SMM and Bro. Frederick Yumang, SMM facilitated the program of the day. They began with an opening prayer followed by the presentation of the participants according to their zone. Then, to set the mood for active participation they invited everyone to join in the action song.

Two weeks prior to this assembly, questionnaires were distributed to members of the different organizations, Basic Ecclesial Communities, and to some parishioners as well from the different zones.  The questions were pertaining to what they like and dislike in the parish, what they can suggest to make our church alive, the involvement of the youth and the impact of the Basic Ecclesial Communities.

Bro. Edwin Aguila, the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) President explained the mechanics of the workshop. The participants were grouped into eight (8) according to zones.  The task of each group is to collate the responses, to summarize and to present them in the big assembly.  Sister Linda Igna, the secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council synthesized the report of the groups.

Rev. Fr. Richard Magararu, SMM, the parish priest, presented the Vision Mission of the Archdiocese of Manila and asked the assembly to see if the responses in the survey are aligned with the presented VMG of the Archdiocese.  He emphasized that all activities and programs should bring the parish to the fulfillment of the vision of the Archdiocese.  The assembly was convinced that it is in line with the VMG of the Archdiocese. But they expressed that there is still a need to look closely at its programs so that what is envisioned can be truly felt by the parishioners of Santa Teresita.

He assured that whatever was taken in this General Assembly will be seriously considered in the Strategic Planning of the Parish Pastoral Council early next year.  This meeting will include the reformulation of the Parish mission and goals and the election of the new set of officers of the Parish Pastoral Council.

As Fr. Richard continued, he stressed that each one should strive to be role models in order to be true witnesses of the Kingdom of God and to have the courage to spread His goodness, to continue to evangelize starting with one self and get rid of each excess baggage, and be committed to our obligations and service to the parish.
