The leaders and members of Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) of Sta. Teresita Parish, who have been tirelessly working to realize the “Church of the Poor” had organized a night of fellowship. This was called BEC Night held last September 25, 2015 at the West Rembo Covered Court. The annual event was the launching activity for the celebration of the Parish Feast. The theme was “Parokya ni Sta. Teresita, Halina’t Sama-sama Tayo kay Hesus sa Piling ng mga Maralita.” (Parish of Sta. Teresita, Let us Come together to Jesus in the presence of the Poor). It was inspired by the celebration of the Year of the Poor in the Philippine Church.
It was a joyful and well-attended event. The program commenced with El Shaddai’s highly-spirited song and dance numbers in which the crowd actively participated. Mr. Tatang Mendoza, who is from the BEC Formation and Promotion of the Archdiocese of Manila was the special guest. He gave an inspiring message to all and encouraged everyone to participate and support all programs of the BEC. The night was also filled with an outburst of talents as the different zones have prepared and presented their unique cultural presentations. Delicious foods brought by each community was shared together. The BEC night was a success. May more parishioners get involved in BEC so that Sta. Teresita Parish be really become a community of communities.
