Sta. Teresita Parish hosted the Legion Congress last Sunday, October 26, 2014.  It is an event by the Legion of Mary that is held every two years. This year it was spearheaded by the Visitation of Our Lady Curia.  It was held at the third floor multi-purpose hall.  The event started with the opening prayer led by Bro. Ching Aguilar.  Afterwards the participants joined the Eucharistic celebration of the parish community presided by Rev. Fr. Angelo Pusikit, SMM.   After the holy mass, Sister Aysa Batalla from Mary Mirror of Justice Parish delivered her Welcome Remarks and it was followed by the announcing of Legion Congress Guidelines.

Legionaries from four parishes composed of Mary Mirror of Justice Parish, Mater Dolorosa Parish, St. John of the Cross Parish and our very own Sta. Teresita Parish were the delegates of the said congress.  The Introduction of the first session started at around 10 o’clock in the morning and it was all about Devotional System of the Legion which entails our devotion to Mother Mary.  The Devotional Outlook of the Legion was also discussed together with the Legionary and Mystical Body of Christ.

At around 11 o’clock in the morning, the second session started with discussion of Legionary Qualities and how they are to be developed.  This topic encouraged all legionary-participants to be responsible in terms of service, constancy in their apostolic works,  to be more devoted to Jesus and Mary and to be always obedient to the Church.  Catena Legionis was then recited followed by the Angelus led by Bro. Jan Icheal Bulayog before the noon break.

The Legion Congress resumed at around 1:30 in the afternoon. There were still relevant topics discussed which are helpful to strengthen the spirit of the legion in their respective parishes.  Many Legionaries participated in the discussions and shared their experiences.  The most touching part was the sharing on how the Legion of Mary influenced them. They shared a lot of things that everybody listened attentively.  This once more proved that Legionaries stand firm in their faith and making efforts to keep the spirit of the legion alive.  The Legion Congress was indeed a success!
