54 Babies “Christened” on the Feast of the Parish

Published by Fr. Richard Magararu, SMM in News Update · 7/10/2014 10:33:05

There were fifty four (54) babies who were baptized last October 5, 2014, Sunday
, on the feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, patron saint of the parish. The actual feast was on the first day of October but the parish traditionally celebrates it on the first Sunday.  Many parents prefer to have their children baptized on special occasions like this for economical reason. They have two parties in one, the parish feast and the “Christening” of their child.  Parents were asked to register before the actual day of baptism and to come to the church an hour before the rites, together with the Godparents for the pre-baptismal seminar which is conducted by the catechists. The Rites of Baptism begun at eleven o’clock (11:00 AM).  Fr. Richard Magararu, SMM, the parish priest, presided the celebration. He was assisted by Reverend Benjie Notarte, SMM, Fr. Angelito Pusikit, SMM and Fr. Reynaldo Bulllas Jr., SMM.  Because there were four ministers, the celebration of this beautiful sacrament was done in less than an hour and was very orderly.
